Janamaru Marana is Odia writer and translator KamalakantaMohapatra’s autobiography. A rumbustious childhood, a ruminative middle age, most of it spent in civil service, and a self-introspective old age offer glimpses of the growth of a writer and translator. Moving back and forth in time, the author creates a melange of vignettes which make for absorbing reading. An important contribution to the genre in the Odia language.
